In Scots (and other Celtic/Norse) mythology, Selkies are beings who change from human to seal by removing they're seal skin, usually shown in the female form.
There are many stories about them, one being of a man who steals the shed seal skin and compels her to become his wife.
Hopefully this is the start of a series of environments inspired by Scots mythology. The inspiration initially came from a beautiful photo of Kilchurn Castle in Dalmally by James Grant.
The women here is actually my fiance Leah, who I decided to sculpt for this piece.
